We report on a lot of studies here at Mix1041.com, from the sublime and the ridiculous to those whose findings make you go “Hmm…” we’re always looking for something that will start a conversation among our listeners and visitors.

That said, a new survey from WalletHub ranked the 100 largest American cities on where they fall when it comes to celebrating our independence.

Boston didn’t even make it into the top 10, and for that we cry foul.

Sure, WalletHub put this study together using 14 different benchmarks from gas prices and duration of fireworks shows to weather forecasts and the number of festivals celebrating July 4th.

But did they take into account that we’re pretty much the birth place of the Revolution?

We here in Boston practically invented America.

Paul Revere?

Shot Heard ‘Round The World?

Nope.

They put is at #13, behind Oakland… OAKLAND?!

Heck, Washington, DC should be even more ticked off – they came in at #18! And they’ve got one of the biggest Fourth of July celebrations going!

So who topped this list?

Minneapolis.

Oh, and by the way, St. Paul came in at number 3. They’re like 6 blocks from each other!

Can’t we just combine the two and call it even?

At least that would raise us up to #12.

The rest of the Top 10 are below. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be heading over to the Esplanade to listen to the Boston Pops serenade us while fireworks illuminate the Charles River.
